Description: Short grain rice has been commonly described as having almost round appearance.
A short grain rice variety usually is about 1/8 inch (2.5 mm) in width and less than 1/4 inch (4-5 mm) in length. When cooked, short grain rice becomes obviously sticky.
Compared to long grain rice, short grain rice tends to require less water and in fact an ideal grain for sushi.

Cooking Instructions:* Short Grain Rice
Prepare 1 cup (250 ml) uncooked rice Cooking Liquid (e.g. water, broth, etc.) about 1-1/4 cups (300 ml)
Cooking Time: 20 minutes to 30 minutes
Bring rice to a full boil.
Reduce heat to simmer (low boil). Cover with a lid; then simmer until liquid is absorbed.
